The MPAA rating has been assigned for “suggestive material and brief strong language.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes several implied sex scenes with partial nudity, discussions of infidelity and sexual encounters, some bullying and arguments, and at least 1 F-word and other strong language. Two long-distance best friends (Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher) living on opposite coasts also have contrasting personalities. When they trade houses for a week so that he can look after her teenage son (Wesley Kimmel) while she is away on business, the three get more than they bargained for. Your Place or Mine SEX/NUDITY 4

 – A man and a woman kiss on a couch, ignoring friends; he picks her up and she wraps her legs around his waist as he carries her to a dimly lit bedroom, places her on a bed, he removes his shirt (we see his bare chest and abdomen) and she removes her blouse (we see her bra, cleavage and bare abdomen) and he lies on top of her (they both keep their pants on); and they kiss several times and the scene ends (sex is implied and we see two flashbacks of this scene). A man and a woman kiss on a couch, they lie down with the man on top as they continue kissing and the scene cuts to a video chat where the man carries the woman into a bedroom off-screen; another man views this scene and slams his cell phone onto the floor and we hear it cracking and breaking; the camera cuts to the couple on a bed, where he removes his shirt (we see his bare chest and abdomen) and she removes her blouse (we see her bra, cleavage and her bare abdomen) and the camera cuts to the next morning (sex is implied) where the man and the woman lie in bed under covers and we see only her bare shoulders and arms briefly.
 A man and a woman lie in a bed about four feet apart and under covers and we see his bare shoulders and her arms; the camera backs up to show that they are on a split screen and another woman lies beside the man on his other side, clothed in a T-shirt and under covers.
 We hear that a man and a woman had sex once and she was married at the time. A man says that he has sex with a neighbor woman often, but we never see this. A man and a woman live together for six months until she breaks up with him (we see no sexual activity). A woman mentions that she lives with another woman, implying a romantic relationship. We hear that a woman and a man are divorced and have 13-year-old sons. A man in a bar looks a woman up and down and smiles.
 A man is shirtless in a few scenes and in a bathtub scene we see his bare shoulders and upper chest. In several scenes, a woman wears low-cut tops that reveal cleavage. A woman wears scoop neck tops that reveal cleavage in several scenes and she wears a bra under a jacket over mid-thigh length shorts (we see cleavage, bare abdomen and legs to the mid-thighs). A woman wears a hoodie that comes to the top of her thighs and her legs are bare from there to her feet; she tells another woman that she is naked underneath (we do not see this). A woman wears a miniskirt in a few scenes.

Your Place or Mine VIOLENCE/GORE 2

 – A teen plays hockey and falls when another boy runs into him accidentally; a doctor says the boy has a slight headache with nausea and probably no hematoma (he is fine the next day) and we see him in a hospital bed as he shouts at his mother over a cell phone.
 A teen boy is bullied by two former friends that ignore him and make rude faces at him in a few scenes and the boy becomes sad; he and his male babysitter take the two boys to a hockey game in a lush private box with gifts and food, but their behavior does not change and the first boy sits alone, looking sad.
 A woman shouts at a man on the phone and tells him to leave town. A teen boy argues with his mother a few times. Two women argue briefly. A man argues with two other men briefly. A man and a woman argue loudly in an airport for several seconds, quiet down, and then argue vigorously again; they stop and kiss, and later we hear they were married and raising her son from a previous marriage. An actress practices lines where she is strangled and murdered; she screams and gurgles for a few seconds. We hear that a man’s father died “drunk.”
 A young teen boy is shown with a toothbrush in his mouth and he sips some water and spits it into a sink. A man brushes his teeth and does not spit.

Your Place or Mine SUBSTANCE USE

 – We hear that a goldfish died in a bong that caught fire, and we hear that a teen boy needs antihistamines and nasal spray and that a man developed the same allergies at age 13. Two women sit at a table with cocktails and one woman sips her drink, two women are shown with cocktails in a bar, a man on a patio drinks from a beer bottle and another man drinks from a bottle of sparkling water, a man at a bar orders a bottle of sparkling water and we see a short glass of amber liquor at a spot down the bar (no one drinks it), and we hear that a woman’s mother was a “drunk.” A 13-year-old boy asks for coffee several times (adults deny him), a woman says she is losing her mind because she drinks so much coffee and we see her with a large takeout cup of coffee in her hand in several scenes, and we hear that a man went through rehab twice and no longer drinks alcohol.
