The fourth entry in the series provides the back story of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman): Born in mid-19th century Canada, he fights in WWI, WWII and Vietnam, and is eventually recruited by a secret government unit conducting criminal paramilitary operations and staffed by other mutants. He soon finds out that quietly quitting is not an option. Also with Liev Schreiber, Tim Pocock, Troye Sivan, Tahyna Tozzi, Will i Am, Danny Huston and Ryan Reynolds. Directed by Gavin Hood. [1:47]

SEX/NUDITY 4 - A man and a woman kiss in several scenes. A woman lifts her skirt and straddles a man, who's seated on a sofa, and caresses his face.
 A soldier drags a woman into a hut and throws her onto a bed; another soldier comes and orders the man to stand down (it is implied that the man was going to rape the woman).
 A man has a tattoo of a woman on his arm and he says it is of a woman that he loves; another man mentions that he doesn't really know her.
 A man leaps out of a containment tub fully nude and runs (we see bare buttocks, back, legs and chest). A man lies nude on an exam table covered with a sheet from the hip down (we see bare chest, and bare abdomen to the hip). A man is shown bare-chested. A woman comes out of a shack wearing a man's shirt (bare legs are shown). A woman wears a low-cut top that reveals cleavage.

VIOLENCE/GORE 6 - A man is shot in the back three times, then twice in the head, once at close range (we see his body flinch). A woman is shot through the back twice and a man in the chest once (we see them lying dead on the ground).
 Two men fight: one stabs the other, one shoots a heat beam at the other, and the two then move to the rim of a nuclear power silo and continue to fight; another man joins them, they stab and slash at each other, one is slashed on the throat, he falls and we see his head separate from his body. A man jams his hand through another man's stomach and we see that he grabs the man's spine (we hear a crack and the man falls to the ground). Two men (one with spikes in his hands and the other with claws) charge each other; they fight with punches, kicks, slashes, and stabbing (we hear squishing and crunching). Two soldiers fight against other soldiers from their own side, who hold them at gunpoint. Two men fight: one is stabbed through the hand and the chest by the blades on the other man's hand. Two men fight with punching, kicking and slashing (we hear squishing), they break through a window and land hard on the ground; one man is stabbed through the chest by the other.
 We see several war scenes with battles and gunfire, many explosions, dead bodies strewn on the battlefield, and hand-to-hand combat; we watch many men being gunned down as they charge onto a beach, and we see soldiers gunned down and run through in a turret.
 A man jumps onto a flying helicopter, cuts the blades off, causes it to crash, and we see the pilot and a passenger (one appears to be dead) and the helicopter explodes. A helicopter fires at a man on a motorcycle, a car chases and fires on the motorcycle, and the car flips over and nearly hits the helicopter that is flying low to the ground. Many people are shot when gunfire is exchanged in a room, others are slashed with swords after many bullets are deflected. A man shoves his hand into the barrel of a tank and when it is fired, the tank explodes (he is unharmed).
 A man breaks another man's neck with a twist. A young boy becomes enraged after watching his father die, spines push through the skin on his hands, he charges the man who is responsible and runs him through (we hear a squish and the man collapses). A man stabs another man in the abdomen, killing him.
 We hear pounding on a door and a man yelling, another man goes to investigate and we hear a gunshot; we then see that a man has been shot and he is dying. A woman is found dead on the ground with blood on her throat and shirt, and a man holds her and yells. We see a woman lying dead, with her eyes open.
 A man is submerged into a tub of water, many needles whirr and move toward him, they drill into his bones and inject a metallic substance; the man thrashes and yells, his heart rate races and then he goes still. A man is shown on a medical table with his mouth stitched together and metallic prods holding him down. A man lies on a medical table with clamps holding his eyes wide open and his flesh appears to be discolored.
 Two soldiers are tied to posts and a firing squad shoots them (we hear the gunshots, but do not see them struck). A man breaks out of his restraints, slashes several people with the metal blades that stick out of his hands, and he is shot at (he's struck in the head and we see the hole but there is no effect).
 A soldier drags a woman into a hut and throws her onto a bed, and another soldier comes and orders the man to stand down (it is implied that the man was going to rape the woman). A woman has a bloody wound on her side.
 A man throws many playing cards at a man, with enough force to force him through a wall. A man cuts a fire escape out from under another man who ends up falling hard on the ground (he's OK). A man slams another man against a wall, holds him around the throat (his face turns red), and then lets him fall to the ground. A man chases a teen boy through a school, knocks him to the ground (the boy's eyes shoot a heat beam that cuts the building in several places) and holds him to the floor while another man shoots him in the back with a narcotic. A man attacks another man (we do not see the result, but we hear later that the man was murdered). A man elbows another man in the face. A man raises his hand, getting ready to kill people and another man grabs him and convinces him to stop. Two men fight and one is shown with blood in his mouth.
 A man wakes up screaming and his hands have spines growing out of them; the woman who had been sleeping with him has small bloody scratches on her arm. A man steps on the spikes that come out of another man's hand and breaks them off (he yells).
 A man questions another man who is on his knees (many other people are on their knees around them), and the man threatens to kill all of the people if he is not given information.
 Heavy logs roll over and cover a man (he's OK). A barn explodes, with three people inside. A man slams a pole into the ground causing a quake that throws two men through the air. Men and dogs chase two boys through dark woods. A man is thrown into a speeding truck, and he rolls over it and lands hard on the ground. A man shoots a cigar out of another man's mouth. A man shoves another man and tries to punch him, and the man grabs his hand and squeezes. A man finds the severed head of an animal (it looks like a bear) in the woods; we see blood on the neck. We see bloody slashes on a man's chest in a hospital. Two men box, one of them is severely overweight, and they punch each other repeatedly; one man is struck in the face and knocked down repeatedly, and one head-butts the other and knocks himself out (he falls to the mat). A man jumps out of a speeding plane and bounces along the water.
 A man points a gun at a woman, and then points the gun under his own chin (does not fire). A man holds a shotgun at a nude man who is hiding in his barn. A man runs up a hill and jumps onto a flying helicopter.
 We see many people locked in cages. A man scratches the hood of a woman's car with his claws. A man accidentally cuts a sink in half, as well as a shelf. A man sharpens a sword, another man has claws that grow when he becomes aggressive, and another man has spines that grow out of his hands (we see slits open up at his knuckles); a young man has heat beams that shoot out of his eyes, and a young woman has a layer of diamonds that grow on her skin. A young man burns his hand on a light bulb, drops it and it shatters. A heat beam demolishes a nuclear power silo.
 A woman tells a man to walk until his feet bleed, and then walk some more (he obeys, turns and walks away). A man holds blades to another man's neck and threatens to take his head off. A man says, "Hunt him down and take his head off." A man says, "Find him and kill him." A man tells another man, "It looks like you are fixing to do something bad." We hear that a boy killed his mother. We hear about experiments done on people. A man asks another man "Are you gonna puke, do you need a bucket?"
 Two men are shown shackled in a cell and we see a rat climbing on the shoulder of one of the men. A young boy coughs and appears to be feverish.

LANGUAGE 4 - 1 obscene hand gesture and another that could be construed as an obscene hand gesture, 5 scatological terms, 3 anatomical terms, 11 mild obscenities, name-calling (freak, stupid, fat, creepy, blob), 3 religious profanities, 6 religious exclamations.

SUBSTANCE USE - A man drinks alcohol, a man drinks a beer, people drink alcohol in a bar, and two men drink beer. A man puts a cigar in his mouth in a few scenes (it never appears to be lit).

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Mutants, being special, being valuable, love, brotherhood, dying, fear of dying, fear of flying, experimentation, instinct, decency, revenge, trust, genetic manipulation.

MESSAGE - Revenge is a powerful motivation.
