The Taking of Pelham 123 [2009] [R] - 4.7.10
Remake of the 1973 film about armed criminals (John Travolta and Luis Guzman) who execute a seemingly foolproof plan to hijack a New York City subway car and take its occupants hostage. Denzel Washington stars as a Transit Authority worker, who has to confront his own personal demons while trying to keep the passengers safe. Also with Victor Gojcaj, John Turturro and James Gandolfini. Directed by Tony Scott. [1:35]

The Ugly Truth [2009] [R] - 8.3.6
Katherine Heigl plays a controlling morning TV show producer who agrees to participate in a set of relationship experiments authored by an insensitive TV host (Gerard Butler). He attempts to apply his own chauvinistic relationship theories to her relationships, but ends up with surprising results. Also with Bree Turner, Eric Winter, Nick Searcy, Jesse D. A man, saddened by the death of his wife, decides to take the adventure they had always dreamed of together. An 11-year-old (Amy Breslin) sues for medical divorcement from her parents (Cameron Diaz and Jason Patric) because they had conceived her in order to use her blood and organs to save her older sister (Sofia Vassilieva) who's dying from leukemia. It is early days in the Star Trek universe, when fresh out of the academy, James T. Kirk, (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto) 'Bones' McCoy (Karl Urban), Scotty (Simon Pegg), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Sulu (John Cho) and Chekov (Anton Yelchin) first find themselves assigned to the U.S.S. Sequel to the 2006 thriller "The Da Vinci Code," and also based on a Dan Brown novel: Tom Hanks reprises his role as a famous symbologist, who this is called to the Vatican to help uncover an anti-Papal conspiracy that may involve a secret, centuries-old group called the Illuminati. Also with Ewan McGregor, Ayelet Zurer, Stellan Skarsgård, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Armin Mueller-Stahl, Pierfrancesco Favino and Victor Alfieri. Directed by Ron Howard. [2:18]

Dark comedy about a famous comedian (Adam Sandler) who is diagnosed with a terminal illness and asks a fledgling comedian (Seth Rogen) to help him with his act. However, in the process, the older man also learns how to lead a more fulfilling life.
