In the latest reboot of the British comic book franchise, the futuristic one-man judge, jury, and executioner Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) and his mind-reading rookie partner (Olivia Thirlby) are called to a 200-story tenement after three people fall to their deaths. A young boy scientist in a small-town (voiced by Charlie Tahan) loses his best friend when his dog Sparky (Frank Welker) dies. The boy finds an electrifying way to bring Sparky back, but when the townspeople find out, a pet cemetery releases its dead and chaos ensues. A young girl (Natasha Calis) purchases an engraved Hebrew box at a yard sale, and she tries to open it, but her dad (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) tells her it was perhaps designed not to open. Meanwhile, in the aftermath of her parents' divorce, she adopts increasingly strange and violent behavior and the box may be the cause. Woody Allen's newest movie is a series of vignettes that all take place in Rome: from a young architect's (Jesse Eisenberg) adventures, to a touring American's (Alison Pill) whirlwind engagement to a Roman and to a newly married Italian couple (Alessandro Tiberi and Alessandra Mastronardi), we see their stories intertwine. College rivals (Lauren Miller and Ari Graynor) move in together when they find a fancy Gramercy Park apartment available. One of them runs a phone sex line and when the other loses her job, the women go into the business together. But as they add a website and film a commercial, they run into humorous ramifications. The Cold Light of Day [2012] [PG-13] - 2.6.5
The family of a CIA agent (Bruce Willis) is taken hostage because a briefcase containing intelligence has gone missing. The situation quickly falls to the eldest son (Henry Cavill) to put things right before they are all killed. Count Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler) has opened a fine five-stake rated hotel in his hometown of Transylvania. One of its guests is a backpacking human boy (Andy Samberg) who stumbles upon the hotel and falls in love with Dracula's daughter (Selena Gomez) at her 118th birthday party.
