January 3

Wedding Crashers [2005] [R] - 7.4.7
Two men (Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn) plan their lives around weddings, crashing as many of the nuptial receptions as they possibly can in an effort to have sex with as many women as they possibly can. The last wedding of the season presents problems when one of the men falls in love with one of the women in the wedding party. Also with Rachel McAdams, Christopher Walken and Will Ferrell. Broken Flowers [2005] [R] - 6.4.5
Bill Murray stars as an aging Don Juan who, on the very day his most recent lover dumps him, receives an anonymous letter informing him that he has a 19-year-old son who may be looking for him. Convinced by his neighbor, an armchair detective, to travel across the country and track down the women he knew 19 years ago, he ends up confronting his past. A group of cave divers goes deeper than they have been before, in order to explore a yet unknown cave system. After an accident closes off their only exit they scramble to find a way out before their supplies are exhausted, but they must also fight off creatures that seem to be occupying the caves and bear a resemblance to ancient depictions of demons. A young singer (Boris Kodjoe) runs away from his preacher father (Clifton Powell) when his mother dies. Transporter 2 [2005] [PG-13] - 4.6.5
Jason Statham reprises his role as Frank Martin, the ex-soldier who's made a career out of the methodical transportation of questionable goods and sometimes people. His current assignment is chauffeuring the young son of a high profile businessman (Matthew Modine). When the boy is kidnapped Frank is suspected of being involved and is pursued by the FBI. In reality, he is the only person who knows the real reason for the boy's kidnapping -- and how to save him. Also with Alessandro Gassman, Amber Valletta and Kate Nauta. Directed by Louis Leterrier. A successful hotel resort manager (Rachel McAdams) traveling from Texas to Miami on a red-eye flight meets a man (Cillian Murphy) who seems charming. But once the plane is in the air he tries to make her help him with his plot to assassinate a government official -- or her father will be murdered. Also with Brian Cox, Jack Scalia and Jayma Mays. The Constant Gardener [2005] [R] - 5.8.6
Ralph Fiennes stars as a British diplomat who defends pharmaceutical testing because of his government position. When his wife (Rachel Weisz), a lawyer and an outspoken activist, discovers that a multinational drug company is testing a tuberculosis remedy on unsuspecting Africans, with fatal side effects, she's murdered. He takes it upon himself to continue her work hoping that in the process he will find those responsible for her death. Also with Danny Huston, Archie Panjabi and Bill Nighy. A group of high school seniors re-visit the infamous Dirty Deeds that their predecessors tried to complete with little success: the idea is to carry out 10 increasingly outrageous and wild challenges, which have to be completed from dusk to dawn on a Friday night. Two for the Money [2005] [R] - 6.4.10
A former college football star (Matthew McConaughey) whose injuries keep him from pursuing his dreams as a professional player, uses his ability to predict game winners by making his betting picks available on 900 numbers. He is discovered by a man (Al Pacino) who runs a powerful sports consulting operation in New York, and is convinced to work for him. Nicolas Cage stars as a wealthy and powerful arms dealer, who's business empire is thriving because he has no scruples about selling guns to anyone who wants them. But his personal life begins to suffer, and he has to learn how to cope without help from a troublesome conscience. Also with Jared Leto, Bridget Moynahan, Ian Holm and Eamonn Walker. Samuel L. Jackson stars as Derrick Vann, a bitter ATF agent whose partner was murdered. Committed to finding the people who killed him, Vann arranges for a weapons deal with the man he suspects. Nick Cannon stars as a young-looking police detective assigned to go undercover on a private high school campus to find information about the death of a student there, despite the fact that his captain considers him to be a loose cannon. The Aristocrats [2005] [NR] - 10.6.10
A multitude of professional comedians discuss the success of an old vaudeville routine titled "The Aristocrats" -- which has been called the world's dirtiest joke -- and to analyze the reason for its long life. They also share their renditions of the joke, and try to outdo each other in creating the most outrageous version by employing extreme sexual and violent imagery. However, his life seems to change when he runs into a kind and wealthy gentlemen (Edward Hardwicke) who sees in him a spark of goodness and trustworthiness. Stop-motion animated feature set in a 19th century town: A young man and a young woman are being compelled to marry without ever having met, because his wealthy but common parents and her poor but aristocratic parents decide that the match will be beneficial for their respective situations. But when the man runs away from the rehearsal into a dark forest and inadvertently places the ring on the finger of a buried corpse he is in for a surprise when the corpse comes out of the ground to say "I do." With the voices of Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Emily Watson, Tracey Ullman and Paul Whitehouse. Directed by Mike Johnson & Tim Burton. [1:14]

In Her Shoes [2005] [PG-13] - 6.4.4
Cameron Diaz and Toni Colette star as sisters whose lives are completely opposite: one is a successful attorney whose life is perfectly organized, while the other is an alcoholic flitting from one casual sexual affair to another. Neither really understands why they are the way they are until an event causes them to separate on unfriendly terms. The Legend of Zorro [2005] [PG] - 3.6.1
Sequel to "The Mask of Zorro," with Antonio Banderas reprising his role as the masked protector of California peasants circa 1850. This time California is preparing to become a U.S. state, if it survives a conspiracy by an ancient European sect that wants to destroy America. Meanwhile, Zorro's wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and young son are upset that he spends too much time saving strangers and not enough time with his family.
