A widower (Aaron Eckhart) writes a book teaching people how to cope with the death of a loved one and becomes an overnight self-help guru, but cannot seem to help himself deal with the loss of his own wife. After running into a freewheeling woman (Jennifer Aniston) while giving one of his seminars, she teaches him how to truly help himself. Four couples take a long-awaited vacation on a tropical island, but soon realize that the highly acclaimed resort is not what they expected: One couple is there to work on improving their marriage, but the others are there simply to have fun, and don't know that participation in the resort's therapy sessions is not optional. Good Hair [2009] [PG-13] - 5.3.5
Documentary with Chris Rock looking at all aspects of the African-American hair care industry: He speaks with celebrities and interviews customers, stylists, and owners of barbershops and beauty shops, hair labs and hair weave manufacturing plants in India. A man (Gerard Butler) watches his wife and young daughter murdered by intruders, and then watches as the justice system frees the culprit. Unable to handle the injustice, he decides to take matters into his own hands and help the DA (Jamie Foxx) appreciate how political ambition can be contrary to delivering retribution. Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant [2009] [PG-13] - 4.7.4
Film adaptation of the young adult fiction series "The Saga of Darren Shan": a young man (Chris Massoglia) finds himself in a difficult situation since he has to become a half-vampire to save the life of his best friend (Josh Hutcherson). After being taken under the wing of a vampire (John C. Reilly), he begins to discover the pros and cons of vampire immortality. Also with Willem Dafoe, Salma Hayak, Jane Krakowski and Ken Watanabe.
