Western about the last days of Jesse James (Brad Pitt). Along with his brother Frank, Jesse is the only other James who's not dead or in prison, and so has to enlist the help of outsiders in order to continue robbing. While he also has to battle all those who are trying to capture him and collect a reward, he doesn't realize that the real danger to his life may lurk closer to him. A NYC radio show host (Jodie Foster) turns into a vigilante after she and her fiancé (Naveen Andrews) are brutally attacked in Central Park. While the entire city is intrigued by this night prowler who seems to be cleaning up the streets in her own way, a detective (Terrence Howard) is hot on her trail. A musical set during the turbulent 1960s and the Vietnam War and told through many Beatles songs performed by different characters: The story is about a Princeton dropout, his younger sister, and a ship welder from Liverpool who's looking for his father in America. All end up in New York City. With Evan Rachel Wood, Martin Luther, Dana Fuchs, Jim Sturgess and T.V. Carpio. Directed by Julie Taymor. [2:13]

The Jane Austen Book Club [2007] [PG-13] - 5.3.5
Six California women create a book club as a way of getting over the trials and tribulations of romantic disappointment, and Jane Austen is their author of choice. While analyzing the characters' motivations and the sloppiness of life and love they realize the answers to some of their own frustrations. With Maria Bello, Jimmy Smits, Emily Blunt, Kathy Baker and Amy Brenneman. Directed by Robin Swicord. [1:46]

When a man's (Greg Kinnear) wife (Selma Blair) leaves him for another woman he is thrown into emotional turmoil. He recovers, or so he thinks, when he meets another woman (Radha Mitchell) and after a whirlwind affair they marry, only to divorce because she is unable to break off a love affair with another man (Billy Burke). A perfectionist chef (Catherine Zeta-Jones) is so paranoid she's unable to trust anyone and suspects everyone who might threaten her position. When her sister dies in a car accident and she is left to care for her young niece (Abigail Breslin) she struggles with the day-to-day complications of childcare and career, until a charming sous chef (Aaron Eckhart) is hired to help in her kitchen. Several married couples meet once a year and go on vacation together to ask themselves the question, Why did I get married? In the process they remind themselves why they continue to love each other and stay together. Anne Hathaway stars as a young Jane Austen, an author and independent thinker in 1795, an era when women are expected to keep to their place. She also refuses an arranged marriage that could save her parents from poverty, and intends to marry for love. A young girl goes missing when she's left unattended by her alcoholic mother, and the city of Boston becomes outraged. The police chief (Morgan Freeman), whose own daughter had been abducted and murdered several years earlier, leads the investigative team, but the girl's family also hires two young local private detectives (Casey Affleck and Michelle Monaghan) to get to the truth. Joaquin Phoenix stars as a man who's related to a long line of distinguished New York cops but wants nothing to do with law enforcement, and instead manages a very successful Brooklyn nightclub owned by the Russian mob. Unbeknownst to him, the gangsters manufacture and deal drugs through the club and when he is asked by his police captain father (Robert Duvall) and his brother (Mark Wahlberg), who is the head of the police task force, to help them find evidence, he's forced to take sides. Martian Child [2007] [PG] - 2.2.3
A science fiction writer (John Cusack) is trying to deal with grief after the death of his wife, and decides to pursue her dream of adopting a child. When he meets an orphan boy that nobody wants because he believes he is from Mars and is on a mission to study human behavior, he isn't so sure he is cut out to be his surrogate father, but he wants to try nevertheless. A series of strange events does make him wonder whether the boy's extraordinary claim may be true. Also with Amanda Peet, Joan Cusack, Sophie Okonedo and Oliver Platt. Directed by Menno Meyjes. George Clooney stars as a man referred to as a "janitor" and a "fixer" since he works for a law firm cleaning up messy situations that involve powerful corporations. His most recent task is to find out why the lead attorney defending a large chemical company is instead preparing briefs that prove his client is indeed guilty of knowingly using poisonous chemicals that have killed several people. In 1970s New Jersey, detective Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe) investigates the elusive Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington), a heroin kingpin whose innovative business strategies revolutionized the drug trade. Having traveled to Asia's Golden Triangle in order to make connections, Lucas used the coffins of soldiers killed in Vietnam to smuggle heroin into the U.S. Also with Chiwetel Ejiofor, Josh Brolin, Ted Levine and Lymari Nadal. Nicole Kidman plays an acerbic writer of short stories who appears unsure of the direction of her life, and she decides to take her teenage son and show up at the wedding of her estranged sister (Jennifer Jason Leigh). WWII drama that takes place in Shanghai during the Japanese occupation of China: A young woman is recruited by the Chinese resistance movement that wants to assassinate a Chinese man who's collaborating with the Japanese, and is responsible for the capture and torture of many members of the resistance. Her mission is to seduce him and lure him to a place where he can be killed. With Tang Wei, Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Wang Lee Hom, Joan Chen and Chih-ying Chu. Directed by Ang Lee. An Egyptian-born chemical engineer disappears during a routine business trip and his American wife (Reese Witherspoon) soon realizes that he was abducted by the CIA and sent outside the U.S. so that he can be tortured, after he was mistaken for a terrorist suspect. While she tries to find a way to get her husband back, she runs into a mountain of red tape that was created in the name of national security. Tommy Lee Jones receives a call late one night informing him that his son who was a soldier in Iraq has returned stateside but has gone AWOL. Not even knowing that his son has returned, he begins to unravel secrets and half-truths that lead him to discover the psychological damage that is done to young people when they are thrown into a war environment. Three brothers (Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman and Adrien Brody) who have not spoken to each other in a year, travel across India on a "spiritual adventure" that they hope will re-unite them as brothers. Horror movie taking place in the northernmost town in the U.S., a small and isolated town in Alaska, where during the winter there are 30 days of continuous darkness. While the townspeople are used to this event, they are shocked to discover a group of flesh-eating creatures that use the lack of light as an opportunity to feast on them. Beowulf [2007] [PG-13] - 6.8.4
CGI animated feature based on the Norse epic poem about the hero who saved a Danish kingdom from a monstrous creature, which was killing and terrifying the people: After dispatching the creature, Beowulf becomes the new king, but the creature's ruthless and seductive mother will use any means to ensure revenge. With the voices of Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovich, Robin Wright Penn, Brendan Gleeson and Angelina Jolie. Directed by Robert Zemeckis. [1:53]

Death at a Funeral [2007] [R] - 4.5.7
A British family at odds with one another gather for a funeral arranged by the deceased's son Daniel (Matthew MacFadyen), who does not expect any help from his famous-novelist brother Robert (Rupert Graves). When an unexpected guest turns up as the dead man's gay lover (Peter Dinklage), and amid a haze of hallucinogens, the family has to deal with blackmail, jealousy and each other.
