Fictionalized treatment of the real-life violent death of actor George Reeves, who starred in the popular 1950's TV series "Adventures of Superman." While the LAPD is convinced that Reeves' death by a single gunshot was a suicide, a seedy detective (Adrien Brody) tries to prove that the actor was murdered either by one of his mistresses or a studio chief with mob connections. A 16-year-old girl (Alison Lohman), whose parents own a quarter horse farm, longs to be back with her horses while suffering through boarding school. But when she returns to the family farm she has to confess to her parents that she has not passed her first year and will have to repeat it. After a heated argument the young woman finds a wild Mustang, that she names Flicka, and insists on taming and caring for it, despite her father's disapproval. Marie Antoinette [2006] [PG-13] - 7.3.2
Kirsten Dunst stars in this historically controversial biopic as the young Austrian woman who was promised to the French king Louis the XVI as a way of cementing the relationship between the two countries. Beautiful but naïve, the new queen becomes the victim of court intrigue and scandal. Eventually, she is stripped of privilege and wealth and beheaded by French revolutionaries. A timid young man (Jon Heder) is anxious to ask his neighbor out on a date but he can't work up the courage. So, he enrolls in a top-secret, confidence-building school, and as the class progresses he eventually asks his neighbor on a date, and she accepts. However, he soon realizes that his teacher (Billy Bob Thornton) at the self-esteem boosting school is also dating the same woman. Also with Jacinda Barrett, Michael Clarke Duncan and Horatio Sanz. The godparents of a teenage girl whose own parents have died adopt her, and because she is hearing impaired, everyone confesses their problems to her, assuming that she cannot hear what they are saying. Thus dark secrets about incest and plans for revenge are revealed, destroying the façade of idyllic suburban life. With Elisha Cuthbert, Edie Falco, Camilla Belle, Shawn Ashmore and Martin Donovan. Tim Allen stars as Zoom, a superhero whose powers were lost during an over-exposure to gamma rays. However, the same rays empowered his brother, but also made him evil and he ended up killing the rest of their team and disappearing. An intricately woven tale of the inadvertent connections between people from around the world whose lives have been affected by one gun. It all starts with a rifle shot in the remote sands of the Moroccan desert, which starts a chain of events linking an American couple, two Moroccan boys, a nanny illegally crossing into Mexico with the two young children in her charge and a Japanese teen. In this Hollywood parody, a group of has-been actors shoots an independent movie that begins to acquire Oscar nomination buzz, which fills them with hope. Will Ferrell stars as a painfully organized and lonely IRS auditor whose life changes one day when he begins to hear a woman's voice narrating his every move and every thought. He soon realizes that the voice belongs to an author and his life mirrors that of a character in her latest book. When he realizes that she plans to kill the character off, he becomes desperate to find her and convince her to spare him. Russell Crowe stars as a very successful London-based investment banker whose favorite uncle (Albert Finney) passes away and leaves him his failing vineyard in Provence, France. He makes a trip to assess the property and make arrangements to sell it, but the visit reminds him of the many days he spent there as a boy and when he gets suspended from his job under suspicion of fraud, he decides to settle there.
