Nim (Abigail Breslin), is an 11-year-old girl that lives alone on a South Pacific island with her scientist father (Gerard Butler) after her mother was swallowed by a great blue whale. When her father goes away on a two-day expedition, a storm strands him at sea and Nim answers an email from her favorite author, who convinced that Nim is alone, injured, and being invaded by Buccaneer Cruise tourists tries to conquer her agoraphobia and is off to save Nim. When a group of Jewish prisoners in a German concentration camp are enlisted to produce counterfeit currency to help the Nazis, they struggle with the moral questions of what they are doing to survive. Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day [2008] [PG-13] - 5.2.3
On the eve of World War II, a woman (Frances McDormand) labeled a "governess of last resort" by her boss, finds herself on the street when she is summarily dismissed. Desperation and serendipity lead her to the doorstep of an ambitious starlet (Amy Adams) who requires a social secretary. She fills the job and begins to discover her talent for bringing to light the true desires of the people around her. A depressed and self-absorbed widower (Dennis Quaid) mopes through his days as a professor of literature, angry that none of his students cares enough about the subject he loves. Matters are made worse when his adopted brother (Thomas Haden Church) shows up and asks for his help, again, and tries to corrupt his 17-year-old, straight-laced daughter (Ellen Page). But he is really thrown when an ex-student (Sarah Jessica Parker), who apparently had a crush on him, treats him in the emergency room after a fall. After witnessing the brutal murders of her family by a former teacher, a high school senior (Brittany Snow) struggles to go on with her life and enjoy her prom night. All is going well until she learns that the psychopathic murderer escaped and is likely to be looking for her. Keanu Reeves stars as a member of a vice squad, who takes the law into his own hands when dealing with criminals that traffic in sex slavery, drugs and guns. A woman and a man (Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher) are in Las Vegas to forget their romantic and professional troubles, spend the evening together drinking, gambling and casino hopping, and wake up the next morning married to each other. Both regret their hasty nuptials, but their situation becomes messier when they win a $3 million slot machine payout and won't share. Morgan Spurlock traverses the Middle East trying to find the trail to Osama bin Laden. In the process he meets and talks to citizens of Egypt, Afghanistan, Israel and the Palestinian territories and Saudi Arabia. Directed by Spurlock. [1:33]

Redbelt [2008] [R] - 3.6.8
A man (Chiwetel Ejiofor) running a Jiu-Jitsu school struggles to make ends meet until he saves a celebrity (Tim Allen) in a bar fight and it seems possible that he can finally turn his life around. However, a chance encounter one evening at the school ends up forcing him to consider entering a prizefighting competition, and he may end up losing everything.
