Penelope Cruz stars in this Spanish film about two women who work through their grief after the death of their beloved aunt. They hear unusual stories about the days before her death and while trying to find out the truth about the disappearance of another woman's mother, some dark secrets are uncovered. After being invited to join a secret society called the Skull & Bones on the Yale University campus, a young man (Matt Damon) becomes connected with people who eventually control many government functions, and he is recruited by the CIA as a covert operative in foreign espionage. Completely committed to his job and his idea of what the welfare of the United States of America requires him to do, he does whatever he sees as appropriate, using any means he deems necessary. A mockumentary about the fictional assassination of President George W. Bush: Using archival footage, as well as digitally manipulated images, the film takes place years after the unsolved crime, and features interviews with suspects and their families, Secret Service men, journalists, political protestors and experts. Based on the events of the day in 1968 when presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated at the Ambassador Hotel while getting ready for a primary election night party. The story revolves around 22 individuals who were at the hotel at the time, for disparate reasons. With Anthony Hopkins, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, Lindsay Lohan and Elijah Wood. A new teacher (Cate Blanchett) at an English high school becomes embroiled in an affair with one of her young students, and a colleague (Judi Dench) who discovers her secret, decides to use this information to insinuate herself into the woman's life. The Last King of Scotland [2006] [R] - 7.9.6
Biopic with Forest Whitaker as the former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin, that chronicles his rise to power and his various brutalities through the eyes of a Scottish doctor (James McAvoy) who initially became Amin's confidante and personal physician. Originally flattered, the doctor soon realizes his complicity in Amin's crimes. Also with Kerry Washington, Gillian Anderson and Simon McBurney. Directed by Kevin MacDonald. [2:01]

An idealistic teacher (Hilary Swank) in a Los Angeles high school believes that she can make a difference in the lives of her disadvantaged, racially divided inner city students. But she has to struggle against the school administration, that refuses to support her efforts, and must overcome the violence that touches the children every day. While monitoring surveillance of a mafia boss's home, two FBI agents overhear an order for a hit on a Las Vegas illusionist named Buddy "Aces" Israel (Jeremy Piven) -- Israel happens to be the government's lead witness in the case against the boss and his group. In a race against time, the FBI moves in along with bounty hunters anxious to claim the million dollar price on Israel's head. This motivates him to settle down in one job and he becomes the night guard at a museum, where the residents come to life after dark. He now has to figure out how to survive the nights without being eaten by a T-Rex, or torn limb from limb by Attila and his Huns, or bombarded by a Lilliputian Roman army. A fictional portrait of the British Royal family's handling of the death of Princess Diana in August of 1997. As the Princess's immense popularity with the British public becomes clear, the Queen (Helen Mirren) has to consider how their private lives have become fodder for celebrity journalism. Denzel Washington stars as an ATF investigator trying to solve the mystery of a New Orleans ferry explosion, and he begins to suspect that feelings of déjà vu are actually warnings sent from the past. If he can unravel the clues in time, he may be able to save hundreds of innocent people from certain death. Also with Val Kilmer, Paula Patton, Bruce Greenwood and Adam Goldberg. Cedrick the Entertainer stars as a man suffering from amnesia, who is convinced that he is an undercover operative for the FBI. Although disappointed to learn that he is merely a janitor, he finds out that there is still a lot of excitement in his life when he helps uncover a black market computer chip operation.
