SEX/NUDITY 2 - A nude Troll facing away from the camera hugs himself and rubs his own hands down his back to the top of his buttocks. Two baby Trolls and a dozen larger, glittery trolls are nude, with distinct buttocks facing the camera. An older male Troll wears only briefs in three scenes. We see a male Troll's buttocks and the view cuts to his upper chest, where we see a triangle of curly chest hair. A man's face is pasted onto the body of a magazine bodybuilder with a bare chest and abdomen. A giant wears a shirt that is too short, revealing his belly and navel. A giant sits as a group of Trolls in a flying roller-skate snatch off his clothing, revealing a loincloth that shows shapeless legs, belly and arms.
A woman in disguise goes on a date with a man and when their fingers touch on a pizza slice, they stare longingly at each other; she slaps his face and gobbles pizza, but compliments his eyes. A man and a woman kiss, but when they are interrupted the woman runs away.
A woman is secretly in love with a man and she kisses his picture in a frame and on a pillow. A female Troll and a male Troll hug twice. Wearing a jumpsuit and platform heels, a Bergen wiggles her hips in three scenes, flirting with a male Bergen.
A Bergen says that she wants to be king and an animal asks, "Are you a dude?" (no reply is heard).

VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - A felt cutout scene shows a giant taking the head off a Troll, salting it, and swallowing it, as the Troll's neck bleeds rainbows. A felt cutout scene shows a giant swallowing Trolls into a stomach, where they float in liquid with their eyes all Xs to indicate death. A felt cutout scene shows a giant giving another giant a wedgie and we see a Troll tree in a wrought iron cage.
Trolls have a disco party with drums, loud 1970's music, shouting, singing, and dancing as glitter balls shoot and one Troll is knocked over, but unharmed; beams of light shine into the sky and create a shock wave that extends into a land of Bergens, loud stomping sounds are hears off-screen and a giant bare foot steps into the frame; looking up, we see a giant capturing Trolls and placing them into a fanny pack as a Troll hits the Bergen's big toe with a mallet to no avail. A Bergen tries to feed a Troll to a young Bergen three times, finally forcing it into his mouth in a taco; the Troll appears to have been eaten, but a flashback shows that he clung to the young Bergen's uvula and popped back out, to be captured in a locket.
Bergens in a dining room chant, "Trolls! Trolls!" as they pound on the tables, complaining that they want to eat and when the dinner pot turns up empty the chef yells at guards to kill a maid, shouting, "Finish her!" Trolls sail into a dining room window in a flying roller-skate, shattering a glass window before sailing onto a woman's head to form a rainbow wig; she is hit on the head with a wooden spoon and falls into the empty pot on a serving cart that catches fire, and the chef and a traitor Troll on the cart rolls out of the castle and down an incline to rest on a hill (after the end credits the hill opens with a big mouth, showing a green striped tongue and eyes on stalks and it swallows the two characters and the serving cart). Two trolls each strangle a third troll briefly with their hair and the third Troll escapes and helps a Bergen capture a village of Trolls; the Bergen brings them to a castle and puts them into a pot, where they become depressed and all turn gray (they later escape).
A Venus flytrap closes on a Troll, but she escapes; she falls into a fish's mouth and swims between coils of intestines, floats above stomach acid, pops back out the mouth and erupts in blue spots and swells like a balloon in some sort of allergic reaction; she falls through spider webs, is encased in them, and hits the ground with her tongue hanging out where four chattering four-eyed fuzzy spiders with striped legs skitter toward her and another Troll hits a spider in the eye with a rock, without damage and then whips a spider with his long hair until it retreats and a large monster with antlers swallows the spiders; the Troll uses two lightning bugs as defibrillator paddles on the female Troll and she wakes up singing.
Trolls run through a tunnel and a Bergen above ground, and swings a pickaxe to collapse the tunnel; she catches the briefs of one Troll for a few seconds and a passageway collapses in smoke, but no one is hurt. A flashback shows a giant Bergen with long talons, kicking a Troll tree and wooden Trolls falling out; she becomes angry and says she will hunt down real Trolls to eat as we then see her being thrown out of a castle door toward the camera.
Bergens are gray, green, or dull purple, with double chins, warts, cracked, uneven teeth, and sharp talons. Bergens plan to eat Trolls in an annual festival to absorb happiness. In a street, a Bergen kicks another Bergen, who gives the first one a wedgie. A Bergen with flies swarming his face swats himself repeatedly with a fly swatter in two scenes. A Bergen buries himself as a bird-like creature screeches on top of the tombstone. A snake-like plant chases a Troll but does not catch it.
A monster eats a butterfly and is eaten in turn by another monster and a swarm of flies eats the second monster as they pass by, leaving a skeleton and a flower shoots fire at the skeleton, it turns to ash and the plant swallows the ashes. A giant has a pet crocodile with long crooked black teeth and it snarls at Trolls twice and chases Trolls down a hallway as a chandelier falls and misses the crocodile; a Troll falls into the crocodile's mouth and the animal spits it into the air.
A female Bergen hits a boy on the head with a wooden spoon and says that she should be the queen. A female Bergen hits a maid on the head with a wooden spoon, and later, releases a huge pile of dirty pots and pans down a chute onto her head. Palace guards point sharp spears at a Bergen, a scullery main, and twice at a Troll. A Bergen maid and a Troll pick up pots, shouting and ready to hit each other, but stop and a group of Trolls and the giant maid scream in fear at each other.
A male Troll pulls a female Troll into his cave and sets over 100 mouse traps on the floor, along with one bear trap; the Trolls argue and the female brings in the whole Troll village to stay. A tiny cut out Troll shoots glitter from its eyes and a real Troll stomps on it.
Three flashback scenes show a Troll running into gatherings, with a tall cake, knocking it over, and shouting, "The Bergens are coming"; Trolls are dressed in black in one of these scenes and there is a banner stating "Sorry For Your Loss" (funeral implied).

A female Bergen puts several Trolls into a cage and shows them a Troll cookbook, saying, "I'll bite your yummy heads off."

An animated cloud with arms and legs becomes frightened, darkens, we hear thunder, and the cloud rains, as if it is losing bladder control from fear. A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.

INAPPROPRIATE ADS? We have little control over ads since we belong to ad agencies that serve ads automatically; a standing order should prevent provocative ads, but inappropriate ads do sneak in.
