ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

Jackie Chan is a cop on assignment in China. And of course,
must use martial arts and do lots of stunts before resolving the case.
SEX/NUDITY 1 - A couple of kisses.
VIOLENCE/GORE 8 - Lots of martial arts fights and regular fistfights, with
kicks and punches. People are shot, sometimes with automatic gunfire which results in
bodies jerking (there's some blood). A man bashes another's head in and there's some
blood. A man is drowned, a woman dangles from a truck and nearly falls off, a man dangles
from a helicopter and nearly falls. Chases on foot, car and boat. Fireballs with lots of
buildings exploding into flames; people on fire are tossed about.
PROFANITY 5 - One F-word in background music, some mild obscenities, a few
scatological and anatomical references. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Law enforcement, Asian culture, martial arts, drug
trafficking.
MESSAGE - Teamwork is key, the good guys usually win.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
