ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

The members of a successful 70s rock band, Strange Fruit,
regroup and try to make that magic happen again in the late 90s. Starring Juliet Aubrey,
Stephen Rea, Billy Connolly, Jimmy Nail, Timothy Spall and Bill Nighy.
SEX/NUDITY 5 - Sexual innuendo. A man and a woman kiss repeatedly. A couple
has sex and we briefly see a woman's breasts. A man touches a woman's buttocks. Many
topless men, and lots of cleavage.
VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - One major bar fight, which causes a few bloody faces. One
man nearly dies as he falls through a frozen canal.
PROFANITY 8 - About 30 F-words, several anatomical references, several
scatological references, a few mild obscenities and several insults. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Drugs, alcohol addiction, sex, relationships, group dynamics,
mental instability.
MESSAGE - The years may go by and the times might change, but cool bands
reignite the rock n' roll flame.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
