ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

Will Smith shows up at the door of a rich New York
art-dealer and cons him into thinking that he's a mugging victim, a Harvard classmate of
his son, and the son of Sidney Poitier.
SEX/NUDITY 6 - Brief frontal male nudity and several shots of naked
backsides. Will Smith is shown in bed with a man. A second instance of homosexual sex is
presented, off-camera. Two instances of men kissing, briefly. A man and his girlfriend are
shown in bed; they are not having sex though.
VIOLENCE/GORE 2 - Will Smith bleeds from a self-inflicted wound. In a dream,
we see him inflict the wound, but the camera work is tricky and we wonder if we actually
saw it or not.
PROFANITY 5 - The F-word is used several times. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Mental illness, fraud, homosexuality.
MESSAGE - Chaos and order are two sides of the same coin.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
