Kyra Sedgwick, Campbell Scott, Bridget Fonda, Matt Dillon,
Sheila Kelley and Jim True try to figure out the rules of dating and find
meaningful relationships. Also with James LeGros, Devon Raymond, Camilo Gallardo, Ally
Walker, Eric Stoltz, Jeremy Piven, Bill Pullman, Tom Skerritt and Peter Horton. Directed
by Cameron Crowe.
SEX/NUDITY 5 - Lots of sexual innuendo. Several passionate kisses. A woman
and man in their underwear kiss passionately; we then see their bare shoulders and faces
as they have intercourse (with some movement and sound). A doctor gives a clinical
explanation of sexual intercourse to a young boy. In a collage of photographs, we see
several topless and scantily clad women; we also see a woman in her bra. While looking at
a computer-generated graphic of a woman's bare breasts and torso, a man and woman take
turns increasing and decreasing the size of the breasts.
VIOLENCE/GORE 1 - Two cars crash into each other; we don't see any blood,
but we do see a semi-conscious woman recovering in a hospital.
PROFANITY 5 - 1 F-word, a couple anatomical references (and some double
entendres using the word "dick"), several scatological references and one mild
obscenity. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Dating, being single, falling in love, rejection, betrayal,
premarital sex, breast enlargements, pregnancy, miscarriage.
MESSAGE - Falling in love can be as simple or as complex as you make it.
