Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
SEX/NUDITY 2 - Kissing, sexual innuendo. A man has his hand on a woman's
clothed breast.
VIOLENCE/GORE 8 - Some scenes where people are repeatedly stabbed in the
back, chest and abdomen (once in the cheek) with blood on their bodies, faces and hands.
Some of the stabbings are accompanied by squishy sounds and result in puddles of blood and
blood spewing from their mouths. People in various scenes have blood on their hands and
clothes and scraped knuckles. Someone is nearly stabbed in the face through a door. A
woman is thrown through a glass door and off a balcony with a thud resulting in her
twisted body lying in a puddle of blood. A few scenes with blood smeared on walls, doors,
glass, etc. Blood drips out of a door. A man has deep, bloody gashes on his arm. A corpse
has a very bloody torso and bloody streaks on its face. A man's throat is slashed with
lots of blood. A man is decapitated as his body twitches, with lots of blood. A man has
bloody cuts all over his body. A man is shot in the chest many times with his body jerking
and blood pouring out. A couple of women are shot with some blood. A close-up of a bloody
face and eye. A stage set nearly crushes a woman. Some people have bloody scrapes and
bruises primarily on their faces. Lots of chases, some falls and stumbles. Lots of
"jump" scenes, lots of shots of a very bloody knife, threatening with guns and
with knives (once held to a woman's throat). A few scuffles, reckless driving, a few
fights with face punches, kicks, etc. Bloody bandages and pans are seen in a hospital.

PROFANITY 8 - About 35 F-words, many scatological references and anatomical
references, some mild obscenities. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Movie sequels, college, murder, the media.
MESSAGE - Movie sequels don't always suck. You can't blame the media for
your psychotic tendencies.
A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
