Director Steven Spielberg's film centers around Oskar
Schindler (Liam Neeson), a German entrepreneur and bon vivant, who became a hero when he
managed to save his Jewish employees from certain death in the Nazi death camps.
SEX/NUDITY 6 - There are two brief sex scenes: a man grabs a woman's breasts
through a wet t-shirt. There is both male and female full frontal nudity with exposed
genitals, and hundreds of naked men and women run through concentration camps, with
several close-up shots. These nude scenes are disturbing rather than titillating.
VIOLENCE/GORE 10 - The film presents a horrific, stomach-wrenching depiction
of the holocaust: many, many people are seen being killed in one form or another. They are
shot at point blank range, children are slaughtered, many more are killed in gas chambers.
It is the kind of violence that stays with one for a long time -- it is very, very
disturbing because it is not only graphic, but also very realistic.
PROFANITY 5 - The F-word is used about a half a dozen times, and there are
several other profanities. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - War, genocide, discrimination.
MESSAGE - You save one life, and you save the world.
