Unlike the MPAA we do not assign one inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest, depending on quantity and context.

MPAA Rating: PG-13

Susan Sarandon stars as a mother of seven boys who must deal with conflicts between her maternal role and her desire for independence. Sam Shepard also stars.

SEX/NUDITY 4 - A man puts his girlfriend over a table and lays on top of her kissing her passionately. Some talk about erotic passion and veiled references to sex. Sarandon and Shepard kiss passionately as he lays on top of her and unzips her sweatshirt.

VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - A man pokes his finger with a knife until it bleeds. A dog barks ferociously and almost attacks two people who beat the dog off with papers; when the dog lunges for them, one character takes it down by nearly choking it to death. A brief scene on television of a bombed building and a body being taken from the wreckage.
