ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

Odd-ball comedy about divorce with Denis Leary as a jewel
thief who kidnaps a feuding couple and becomes an unlikely marriage counselor.
SEX/NUDITY 1 - A few sexual references but never the act itself.
VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - Leary takes some hostages, breaks into houses, is
confronted by a big, drooling dog. There is nothing particularly violent and there is no
gore. Leary does flash his gun around quite a bit and threatens to kill people, but it's
always in a mocking tone.
PROFANITY 8 - Every other word out of Leary's mouth is an F-word. Also
scatological language and milder profanities. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Divorce, marriage counseling, blackmail, dysfunctional
families, a life of crime.
MESSAGE - If your marriage is on the rocks, don't waste your money on a
marriage counselor -- befriend a thief instead.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
