Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
Kim Basinger stars as a convicted super-thief, who's forced
to go back to work when it's her son's life vs. pulling off a grand plan worth $18
million.
SEX/NUDITY 3 - There's one scene where sex is implied (overheard) but not
seen, although the language is explicit. We find out that it was a man watching a
pornographic video. There's a quick flash to the TV screen where a woman is stretched
across a man with her bare buttocks covered only by a g-string.
VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - There are several scenes where various people are held at
gunpoint, including a nine-year-old boy. Kim Basinger is beaten up several times by
different men. Gore is kept to a minimum, although there are some bloody, battered and
bruised faces. Scenes with large, man-eating dogs and tigers are threatening and may be
scary for kids. One implied death -- although the person may have survived. It is left
unclear.

PROFANITY 5 - One F-word, several anatomical references, as well as a number
of scatological terms and some name-calling. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Kidnapping, bank robbery, divorce, sexual harassment.
MESSAGE - Everybody deserves a second chance in life.
A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
