ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|

Thinly-veiled, satiric account of Bill Clinton's campaign
for president; based on the eponymous bestseller.
SEX/NUDITY 3 - A couple in bed, obviously naked and after sex but all we see
are bare shoulders and the side of her breast. A man touches a woman's clothed breasts. A
couple of scantily clad women. A kiss between lesbians. More kissing and sexual innuendo
(including a man who flashes a woman although we don't see anything and innuendo regarding
extramarital affairs).
VIOLENCE/GORE 2 - A corpse post-suicide. A couple of face slaps. A key is
thrown at someone's head. Reckless driving. Some scuffles.
PROFANITY 8 - About 70 F-words, many anatomical references, mild obscenities
and scatological references. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Political campaigning, infidelity, the media, the Presidency.
MESSAGE - It takes a lot of spin and a certain moral flexibility to win
elected office.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
