Directed by Peter Weir and based on Joan Linday's 1967
novel, the film details a mysterious incident set in 1900: four Australian girls and their
governess disappear during a field trip and are never found. With Rachel Roberts, Vivean
Gray, Helen Morse, Kirsty Child, Tony Llewellyn-Jones, Jacki Weaver, Frank Gunnell,
Anne-Louise Lambert, Karen Robson, Jane Vallis, Christine Schuler, Margaret Nelson, Ingrid
Mason, John Jarratt, Jenny Lovell, Martin Vaughan, Jack Fegan, Wyn Roberts and Janet
Murray.
