An over-the-hill Hollywood screenwriter (Albert Brooks)
seeks advice on writing his next script from an eccentric woman (Sharon Stone) who is
believed to be a Muse. Also with Andie MacDowell, Jeff Bridges, Mark Feuerstein, Steven
Wright, Bradley Whitford, Mario Opinato, Dakin Matthews, Concetta Tomei, James Cameron,
Bobby Edner, Lorenzo Lamas, Wolfgang Puck, Rob Reiner, Martin Scorsese, Cybill Shepherd,
Jennifer Tilly, Stacey Travis and Steve Valentine. [1:37]
SEX/NUDITY 4 - A little mild sexual innuendo. Two children say a statue
looks phallic. A couple of women are seen in cleavage-revealing tops and we see a nude
woman's bare back, buttocks and the side of her breast as she's getting into bed
alone.
VIOLENCE/GORE 1 - Played for laughs: two men run into each (one is knocked
to the ground) and a man verbally threatens a boy and reaches across a counter trying to
grab him.
PROFANITY 3 - Two clinical anatomical references (said by children), several
scatological references and many mild obscenities. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Muses, Greek mythology, Hollywood, confidence, inspiration.
MESSAGE - You never know how or when creativity will strike you, nor in what
form inspiration will come; part of the secret to success is believing that you can and
will be successful.
