Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
A murder at the White House has law enforcement and
high-ranking officials scrambling for answers.
SEX/NUDITY 5 - A sex scene with a couple partially reclining on a desk with
moaning, heavy breathing and thrusting; her breasts are seen as are his buttocks. The
breasts of a female corpse are clearly shown. Suggestive dancing. Sexual innuendo.
VIOLENCE/GORE 6 - A few people are shot with some blood: in the chest, neck,
and forehead. A trail of blood with a corpse lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab
wounds (this shot is shown a few times). Blood is seen on a man's face as another person
snaps his neck. Other people are shot -- no blood is seen. A man is knocked out with a
punch to the face resulting in a bloody nose. Hostages are shown on television being
beaten (hit in the head with guns). Blood is seen on a corpse's chest. An explosion. A car
flips over. A few chases, a few fistfights (punches, knee in the groin) and threatening
with guns.

PROFANITY 5 - Two F-words, a couple of anatomical references, some mild
obscenities, a few scatological references. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Law enforcement, murder, the Presidency and politics.
MESSAGE - You must investigate to discover the truth.
A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
