ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

Three pre-pubescent boys are interested in learning
whatever there is to know about sex. With Ed Harris and Melanie Griffith.
SEX/NUDITY 4 - Melanie Griffith is shown in a bathtub, covered in soap
bubbles, and in skimpy outfits. Some passionate kissing followed by the implication of sex
(kissing lying down and fade out to morning). Lots of references to sex and sex for money.
A diaphragm is shown.
VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - One fistfight, no blood. One car chase in which a car
driven by children nearly misses a train and explodes into flames (no one is hurt). Some
references to murder and the mutilation of a body: we see the body under a sheet (no
blood).
PROFANITY 3 - Several scatological and anatomical references. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Prostitution, betrayal, premarital sex.
MESSAGE - Don't judge someone by what circumstances in life have done to
them.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
