ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

Six teenagers combat evil (in the form of Ivan Ooze) with
martial arts moves and computer generated special effects.
SEX/NUDITY 1 - Some skimpy outfits which reveal women's legs and midriffs.
VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - The evil creatures are deformed and ugly, but cartoonish
(purple head with bad teeth, a talking pig, large, talking ravens and a shiny insect-like
robot). Ivan Ooze puts out bolts of electricity a few times, which cause explosions and
destruction. About five scenes where the rangers must use their martial arts skills to
vanquish the bad guys; they are hit, kicked, tossed about and hurt. There is no blood but
the bad guys splatter into purple ooze and collapse. The bones of a dinosaur come to life
and attack some people. A group of people walk off a cliff.
PROFANITY 1 - Many taunts. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Martial arts, good versus evil, doing something dangerous for
the greater good.
MESSAGE - Good will win over evil, although it might be a hard fight and
violence will have to be used.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
