Woody Allen and Diane Keaton play a bored, middle-aged
couple living in a Manhattan high-rise, who suspect that their next-door neighbor may have
bumped off his wife.
SEX/NUDITY 1 - No nudity. Some sex talk and references to extra-marital sex.
A married couple is in bed but only for sleeping purposes.
VIOLENCE/GORE 2 - Two characters shoot at each other and one is killed. We
do see three dead bodies -- mostly dangling arms and legs. No blood or gore.
PROFANITY 0 - None. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Murder, dishonesty, fraud, greed, adultery.
MESSAGE - An adventure every now and then is good for a relationship.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
