ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

Friends and strangers find themselves involved in
ever-changing love (and lust) triangles in this romantic drama. Starring Annabella
Sciorra, Josh Charles, Jon Bon Jovi, Penelope Ann Miller, Joanna Going and JoBeth
Williams.
SEX/NUDITY 4 - Lots of sexual innuendo and passionate kissing (in one scene,
two women kiss). It's implied that a woman is performing oral sex on another woman (we
briefly see one woman moving underneath the covers while the other woman is breathing
heavily). A scantily clad woman unbuttons and unzips a man's pants and kisses his stomach
but stops before anything else happens. A man and a woman kiss passionately in bed, and
it's implied that they've had sex when we see them in the next scene (they're clothed but
still in bed). A woman in a bubble bath appears to be masturbating (we see some movement
and her facial expressions). We see a painting of a nude woman (one breast is visible),
and we also see a few women in cleavage-revealing tops.
VIOLENCE/GORE 1 - A woman slaps a man, a man throws a glass against a wall
and a man throws an object and we hear some glass breaking.
PROFANITY 7 - About 22 F-words, several anatomical references, many
scatological references and several mild obscenities. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Relationships, affairs, betrayal, lesbianism.
MESSAGE - You can't force yourself to love a specific person; you have to
listen to your heart, not your head.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
