Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
David Caruso is a reformed convict pulled back into the
underworld by attorneys and police.
SEX/NUDITY 6 - A few kisses and hugs. There are many scenes in a strip club
thus we see fully nude and half nude female dancers dancing in the background.
VIOLENCE/GORE 8 - A man is shot in the hand and some blood is shown; a man
is shot in the eye and he is shown rolling on the ground moaning; a man is shot with a
hail of bullets and his body jerks around as he screams; and a man is shot in the head and
we see a huge, bloody hole as blood splatters. A woman is shown screaming in a car as a
truck barrels down on her. Several people are beaten in the face, with blood splattering
around. A body is shown being stuffed into a garbage bag after being beaten. The beating
scene is very violent although not very gory.

PROFANITY 8 - 50+ F-words, 20+ scatological terms, a large number of milder
obscenities, and some sexual references. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Death of a loved one, getting a second chance, co-operating
with the government, revenge, lack of choice.
MESSAGE - Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do in order to
protect your family; family is what is most important. Ultimately, crime doesn't pay.
A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
