Demi Moore and her son fear for their lives when she's
called to jury duty on a Mafia don's case. Also with Alec Baldwin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt,
Anne Heche, James Gandolfini, Lindsay Crouse, Tony Lo Bianco, Michael Constantine, Matt
Craven, Michael Rispoli, Julie Halston, Frank Adonis, Matthew Cowles and Polly Adams. [1:58]
SEX/NUDITY 5 - Some mild sexual innuendo and passionate kissing. A man and
woman are lying in bed together and he's on top; they're both naked (only their bare
shoulders are visible) and we hear moaning. We see a woman's bare breasts clearly and for
a fairly long period of time. A woman's bra-clad cleavage is also shown.
VIOLENCE/GORE 6 - A man is shot repeatedly (there's blood on his forehead
and shoulder) and a teenager runs screaming and we hear a gunshot as he's killed. A
shootout with some bloody results. We see a body with a puddle of blood under its head. A
man drives recklessly and nearly hits a boy, a car goes over a cliff and a car explodes
with someone inside. A man threatens a woman with a gun and forces her to swallow pills
which will kill her. A woman yells at, shakes and slaps a boy.
PROFANITY 7 - 15+ F-words, some anatomical references and many scatological
references and mild obscenities. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Jury duty, the Mafia, motherhood, vengeance, stalking.
MESSAGE - Terror can make you strong.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
