MPAA Rating: PG-13

Nick Nolte stars as Thomas Jefferson, during the time period when he was the U.S. ambassador to France.

SEX/NUDITY 4 - Women in low-cut, cleavage-promoting dresses abound. Passionate declarations of affection, hand-holding and kisses between a man and woman, a man stares at a woman's cleavage as she sings a lusty song, a hypnotist places his hand on a few clothed breasts while women become excitable and moan and swoon. A puppet show acts out a sex scene: the male puppet has a large and anatomically correct sexual organ. A man and woman tangle in bed (nothing is shown).
VIOLENCE/GORE 2 - A man breaks his wrist and writhes on the ground in pain; we watch as a surgeon violently sets the break. Scenes of the French Revolution: effigies are burned, mobs are yelling and running through the streets, a man is hanged, dogs are shown ripping at the bloody carcass of an unidentifiable animal. The guillotine is demonstrated on asparagus spears.
