Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
Prosecutor David Caruso must investigate former lover Linda
Fiorentino for murder.
SEX/NUDITY 8 - We see photos of people making love; the photos contain
nudity. A female corpse is fully, frontally nude. Several sex scenes with people climbing
on top of each other -- and with a lot of thrusting and moaning, and some kissing. A woman
unzips a man's pants and kneels in front of him. We see a lifelike penile vibrator. Talk
about sex -- sometimes graphic and obscene. A couple is shown in numerous sexual
positions. Two scenes with men performing oral sex on women. At one point a woman appears
to be penetrating a man with her spike heel.
VIOLENCE/GORE 8 - We see a corpse hanging and very bloody. A woman is hit by
a car and then run over (much blood and lots of thudding sounds). A person is hit by a car
(blood on his body and a twisted leg are shown). A man's face is shown with bloody flesh.
A corpse is shown with many cuts and bruises. A woman is beaten and raped (no nudity).

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
