Clint Eastwood stars as an aging Secret Service agent haunted by his failure to save JFK. He gets the chance to redeem himself when the current president is threatened by a loony assassin.

SEX/NUDITY 2 - There's a passionate kiss and one brief sex scene: the man is clothed, the woman is in her underwear, they kiss, they lie down but nothing happens.

VIOLENCE/GORE 6 - There's one brief fist-fight, and a number of people get shot, one in the head; blood oozes from his forehead and mouth. Two women are killed by having their necks broken. One man falls to his death, while the camera follows him closely. And one man is almost suffocated by a plastic bag on his head.

PROFANITY 6 - Some F-words and scatological terms. [profanity glossary]

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. INAPPROPRIATE ADS? We have little control over ads since we belong to ad agencies that serve ads automatically; a standing order should prevent provocative ads, but inappropriate ads do sneak in.
