Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
A group of friends hide a terrible secret and pay the
consequences.
SEX/NUDITY 3 - Cleavage revealing outfits. Kissing (including make-out
scenes where it's implied that the couple had sex, but nothing is shown). Sexual innuendo.
VIOLENCE/GORE 8 - A man who's been hit by a car has a very bloody face. A
man is dumped in the ocean while still alive. A man has a few bloody cuts on his head
after being hit by a car. A corpse is shown in a trunk with crabs crawling around. A
person is stabbed many times with a hook (we don't see the stabbing itself). Blood drips
from a railing. Blood squirts out from a man's chin after he's been gouged with a hook;
he's pulled across a table and killed. Blood gushes from a man's mouth after he's been
stabbed by a hook. A man's hand is ripped off and later we see the severed, partially
bloody appendage. Blood spurts onto a glass door and a body is dragged by a hook. Several
corpses are shown (no blood). A fistfight with many punches and attempted stabbings with a
hook. Chases, reckless driving and scuffles.

PROFANITY 7 - About 33 F-words, many scatological references, some
anatomical references, and some mild obscenities. [profanity glossary]
A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
