ASSIGNED NUMBERS

Unlike the MPAA we do not assign one inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest, depending on quantity and context.

Our lawyers insisted on penalty of excommunication that we include the following really boring but necessary legal representations, warnings, and what have you:

Copyright Policy
Folks, our features are copyrighted. That means they belong to Critics Inc. That extends to any editorial content and editorial constructs, as well as the website design, format, programming scripts, code, stylesheets, etc. Furthermore "Movie Ratings That Actually Work" is a Service Mark of Critics Inc. (plus we may claim additional trademarks and service marks not listed here). At the same time, we're not copyright fascists: yes, of course you can print a page for your own use or to share with friends; yes, you can e-mail a page to a friend; yes, go ahead and link to our site (please!); and, yes, sure, go ahead and look at our HTML code and be inspired and improve your site, However, any commercial reproduction of anything appearing within this site without our written permission is illegal and in really bad taste -- and, yes, we will come after you.

Privacy Policy
Our privacy policy is very simple: we do not collect any personal information on our members and we do not share the e-mail addresses of those who write to us, whether members or readers,  with any other party.

Ad Policy
Ads appearing on kids-in-mind.com are delivered to you by third-party companies: We allow third-party companies to serve ads and/or collect certain anonymous information when you visit our web site. These companies may use non-personally identifiable information (e.g., click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject of advertisements clicked or scrolled over) during your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of greater interest to you. These companies typically use a cookie or third party web beacon to collect this information. To learn more about this behavioral advertising practice or to opt-out of this type of advertising, you can visit http://networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

Linking to other websites
Please note that hyperlinks to other websites from our website are provided as a convenience to you. This includes third-party websites, like newspaper and online critic's websites, as well as our advertisers' websites. If you click on any of these hyperlinks, you will leave our website. Please understand that we cannot, and do not, review every third party and advertiser's sites and we can in no way be held responsible for any of the content of any of these websites. Furthermore, like all things, websites change and often expire, and while we make every attempt to keep our hyperlinks current, it's impossible to keep up with every change. In other words, if you access any of the third party websites hyperlinked from kids-in-mind.com, sorry but you are on you own, cap'n.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Although our site remains very popular, the current economic climate has reduced our ad revenues and, as if that wasn't enough, it has become the target of hackers who don't like what we do and are determined to destroy it. To protect our reviews we moved to a much more secure, and expensive, server and we need your help more than ever. If you think what we do is worthwhile and helpful to you, please consider donating or becoming a member and make sure we continue to publish -- as an extra benefit, members have access to our premium website, which is totally free of ads.

INAPPROPRIATE ADS? We have little control over ads since we belong to ad agencies that serve ads automatically; a standing order should prevent provocative ads, but inappropriate ads do sneak in.
What you can do

HOW TO SUPPORT KIDS-IN-MIND

1.

Become a member: You can subscribe for as little as a couple of dollars a month and gain access to our premium site, which contains no ads whatsoever. Think about it: You'll be helping support our site and guarantee that we will continue to publish, and you will be able to browse without any commercial interruptions.

2.

Tell all your friends: Please recommend kids-in-mind.com to your friends and acquaintances; you'll be helping them by letting them know how useful our site is, while helping us by increasing our readership. Since we do not advertise, the best and most reliable way to spread the word is by word-of-mouth.

3.

Alert local & national media: Let major media know why you trust our ratings. Call or e-mail a local newspaper, radio station or TV channel and encourage them to do a story about our site. Since we do not have a PR firm working for us, you can be our media ambassadors.
