ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|
Unlike the MPAA we do not assign one inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest, depending on quantity and context. |

A combination drama and documentary about two married
couples who are constantly questioning their lives and relationships.
SEX/NUDITY 3 - One bedroom scene where a woman has sex with a man she is not
married to. However, no visible nudity.
VIOLENCE/GORE 0 - None.
PROFANITY 6 - There are several F-words throughout the movie, especially in
one scene when a woman finds out her husband has taken up with another woman. Except for
that one scene, though, profanity is not prevalent. There are enough offensive off-color
comments, though, to generate concern. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Separation, divorce, adultery and mid-life crises.
MESSAGE - No relationship is infallible. Though couples may seem content on
the outside to others, the perceived harmony is not always there.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
