Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
Angela Bassett stars as a divorced mother and high-powered
stock broker who falls for a much younger man.
SEX/NUDITY 6 - Some sexual innuendo. Several scantily clad men and women and
several kissing scenes. Many bare female breasts are evident and there's an extended scene
showing bare male buttocks. A couple make-out in bed and in a shower with kissing and
discreet touching. A woman and man are seen in bed and the woman appears to be having an
orgasm.
VIOLENCE/GORE 0 - None.
the review continues below...
PROFANITY 6 - About 8 F-words, many mild obscenities, many scatological
references, some anatomical references. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Falling in love, relationships between young men and
middle-aged women, single motherhood, generational differences.
MESSAGE - Age doesn't matter in love. There are more important things to
life than careers.
A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
