ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

Michael J. Fox is the voice behind Chance, the mischievous
canine narrator in this updated version of Disney's classic "The Incredible
Journey," which was itself based on the eponymous book. The story is about a journey
taken by Chance, an older dog named Shadow (the voice of Don Ameche) and a cat named Sassy
(the voice of Sally Field).
SEX/NUDITY 0 - None.
VIOLENCE/GORE 1 - No real violence, but there are some scary moments where a
cat gets swept away in a waterfall and a dog falls down a shaft (everything works out
okay, though).
PROFANITY 1 - Some benign bathroom humor: the cat refers to the dogs as butt
sniffers. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - There is a brief discussion about a new stepfather and his
acceptance in the family by the children.
MESSAGE - Loyalty is a desired trait. Love is the most important thing.
Working together makes a goal easier to reach..

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
