ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|
Unlike the MPAA we do not assign one inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest, depending on quantity and context. |

Newly-invented animated sequel to the story of Snow White,
who has to save her abducted prince, assisted by seven Dwarfelles. Voices by Phyllis
Diller, Dom De Luise, Zsa Zsa Gabor and Ed Asner (who gives rap music a try).
SEX/NUDITY 0 - None.
VIOLENCE/GORE 2 - The Prince is kidnapped by a flying dragon. Said dragon
gets wounded by arrows a couple of times, but to no lasting effect. While the dragon does
seem threatening, in the end, no one gets hurt. There's a magic cloak which turns people
into statues, possibly a disturbing notion for younger kids.
PROFANITY 0 - None. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Kidnapping, revenge, U.S. copyright laws (the Dwarfelles are
used as substitutes for the original Dwarfs, since Disney owns the Dwarf characters, and
this is not a Disney film).
MESSAGE - Everyone is special in their own way; so, do your best and be
yourself. Women are as strong as men.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
