MPAA Rating: G

Animated version of the classic fairy tale about a tiny girl, who, after many adventures, marries her prince.

SEX/NUDITY 0 - Some teenage kissing.

VIOLENCE/GORE 2 - Some kicking and pushing. A fairy prince is temporarily frozen to death in a block of ice. A beetle's wings are forcibly removed from his back by a bully of a frog. Thumbelina is forcibly kidnapped from her home and forced to sing and dance catchy tunes composed by toads.

PROFANITY 0 - None. [profanity glossary]

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Kidnaping.

MESSAGE - The intended message is that there's a "right-size" place for everybody, even those who don't seem to fit in the regular world. However, there's also an unintentional message for girls: just be beautiful, take singing lessons, do housework and someday your prince will come.
