ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

Macaulay Culkin plays a 12-year-old psychotic, with murder
in his heart.
SEX/NUDITY 0 - None.
VIOLENCE/GORE 5 - A boy is killed when he falls off a cliff; we see his
inert, broken body from a distance. Also, a woman is pushed off the cliff by Culkin, who
plays her son; she survives with cuts and bruises. Culkin shoots a dog with a homemade
crossbow. While we don't see the dog being hit, we see its body in a sack, being dumped
into a well. Culkin causes a car accident, and, as a result, an RV overturns; nobody's
killed. There's a fist fight between two boys, and they seem quite serious about hurting
each other.
PROFANITY 5 - There is one F-word, uttered by Culkin, as well as some
scatological terms. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Death of a parent, amorality.
MESSAGE - Not all children are innocent and cute. Some can be truly warped
and even evil.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
