ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|
Unlike the MPAA we do not assign one inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest, depending on quantity and context. |

A couple of teenagers compete in the cutthroat fast-food
world (the film is based on a skit from the popular Nickelodeon show "All
That.")
SEX/NUDITY 1 - Sexual innuendo.
VIOLENCE/GORE 2 - Violent scenes are mostly played for laughs and without
gore. A few people are knocked down and one is dragged along the street. A man is thrown
through a window and two men jump after him. A woman is hit in the face by a golf club and
a golf ball, and is knocked unconscious; she also hits a dashboard with her head and later
has a big red mark on her forehead. A woman has her foot stomped on, a couple of people
are kneed in the crotch and a man is hit in the stomach. A man flips a woman over on her
back onto the sidewalk, and during a dance a man elbows two men in the face. An explosion,
chases and reckless driving.
PROFANITY 2 - An anatomical reference and a scatological reference. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Summer vacation, adolescence, fast-food jobs, corporate
America, business competition.
MESSAGE - Goodness will ultimately prevail; ingenuity and a pure heart will
win over corporate muscle.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
