SEX/NUDITY 5 - A teen girl instructs a teen boy to put on a condom and have sex with her: we see them sitting on the end of a bed, the teen girl begins to undress and we see the teen boy in the bathroom (we see his bare back and chest) as he attempts to put on the condom; the teen girl takes off her shirt (we see her in her underwear), she takes off her underwear under the sheets and quickly stands up and pulls on her clothing as the fully nude teen boy (only his bare chest is seen) walks into the room and then the teen girl rushes away as the teen boy, holding clothing over his crotch, chases her.
 A teen girl pulls on a pair of underwear; she hikes up her skirt but we do not see any nudity. We see a teen girl in the bathtub; no nudity is visible and her hair covers her chest. Throughout the movie we see a woman wearing low-cut, cleavage-exposing tops and short dresses. We see a woman dancing suggestively while wearing a tight slip and her cleavage is visible. A teen girl shows another teen girl a poster with pictures of shirtless men and their bare torsos are visible.
 A man and a woman kiss passionately. We see a young woman and a young man kissing passionately during an imagination sequence. A teen girl asks a teen boy to kiss her, they kiss briefly and pull away; the teen boy warns the teen girl that she cannot tell anyone that they had kissed. A teen girl walks in between her mother and a man kissing. A man and a woman roll around on the ground and we see the man try to kiss the woman. A man and a woman sitting in the front seats of a car recline, and the man makes a sexual remark about wanting to wake up next to the woman every day in a reclining position. A teen boy puts his arm around a teen girl as he winks at a second teen girl and the teen girl pushes his arm away.
 In front of a crowd of teens, a teen boy holds up a pair of underwear and shouts that he and a teen girl had sex, and the teens begin to ridicule the teen girl, calling her names as they throw drinks in her face (please see the Violence/Gore category for more details).
 A teen girl tells classroom of teenagers that her mother dates a lot of men, including a married man; as the teen girl talks we see a PowerPoint of two sperm on the screen. On multiple occasions we hear a teen girl discussing losing her virginity, including a teen girl telling another teen girl that she has a plan to lose her virginity; a teen girl asks a teen boy if he would take her virginity and the teen boy agrees. A teen girl tells another teen girl that she is going "to do" a teen boy, implying sex. A man chides a woman, saying that she needs to "tone down" her sexuality. Two teen girl remark that a teen girl is going to be wearing "slut wear." A teen girl reads a book and we see the word "virginity" focused on. A teen girl makes a snide remark that it is weird a man is a gynecologist. A teen girl's bedroom has a large pin-board with the word "menstruation" and decorated with tampons and pads. A man shouts, "don't wait up" to a teen girl as he takes her mother on a date. A woman teases her teenage daughter's friend, saying that she dresses poorly.
 A woman wakes up on a sofa bed and panics momentarily, but looks down and realizes she is wearing clothes (it is implied that she thought she had sex with a man the previous night).

VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - A man screams and holds his hand, we see blood on a towel and it is implied that he cut his hand with a butcher knife (we do not see the cut, only the blood on the towel).
 A teen boy pressures and argues with a teen girl, a second teen girl interrupts them; the teen boy shoves the second girl away and the first girl storms away with the boy.
 A teen girl throws a drink in a teen girl's face, and the teen girl slowly walks away as more people pour drinks over her. Three teen girls ridicule a teen girl about her weight, clothing and appearance.
 A teen girl shouts as her mother dramatically drags her off a bus. A woman threatens her teenage daughter, shouting, "I will set you on fire." A woman threatens her teenage daughter in non-subtitled Spanish; the teen girl translates to a man that the woman is threatening to hit her. A teen girl runs away as her mother chases her; we see the teen girl run through a city, and the woman chases her until they both become tired and sit down. A woman tells a man, in reference to her teenage daughter, that she would have been "beat up" in high school. We see several teddy bears missing their heads and a teen girl tells her mother that they were "decapitated." A man tells three women that he knows that one of the women is "beaten on" by her husband. We hear a man tell a woman that another woman had a "fight with a flight of stairs" (implied to be that she was in an abusive relationship with her husband). A woman confronts a man about breaking into a building and stealing money. A teen girl asks a woman to introduce her to an elderly woman who is "close to dying" and the woman throws the teen girl out of the room. A teen girl tells an elderly woman that she no longer needs "the death stuff" (implying that she does not need the elderly woman to die). A woman tells another woman that she would consider her behavior "parental neglect." An unseen man tells a teen girl "buzz off." A woman shouts at another woman, saying that the bathroom of a restaurant is out of order and "disgusting," saying that it was a sanitary hazard. A man tells three women that one of the women had spit in a customer's food, in front of the customer.
 We see a woman walk into a restaurant, and there is glass on the ground; a second woman remarks that someone had "crow-barred" the window to get in (no one is harmed). A man quickly puts a lid over a growing grill fire in a kitchen; no one is harmed.
 A teen girl knocks over a basket and a shoetree and begins to rip things off a pegboard. A man throws a trophy on the ground. A teen boy is scared when a teen girl pops up in the back of this car.

LANGUAGE 3 - 3 sexual references, 1 scatological term, 1 anatomical term, 3 mild obscenities, 9 derogatory terms for mentally handicapped, name-calling (such immigrants, so old, big flake, kind of a jerk, looks like he keeps guns in his locker, weird, flea packer, big alkee [alcoholic], fatty, fool, liar, Shrek, big talker, womanizing jerk, you little thief, sicko, slut, horror show of a mother), 5 religious exclamations.

SUBSTANCE USE - A teen girl takes a handful of pills and she tells another teen girl they are "skinny pills" (we learn that the teen girl overdosed but we see her unharmed later), a teen girl tells another teen girl that she is going to start drinking and taking drugs, and a teen girl tells a woman in a letter that she is drinking and taking gateway drugs. We see teenagers drinking alcohol on multiple occasions, a teen girl tricks a man into buying liquor for her and she gives it to other teen girls, men and women are seen drinking beer at a party, on multiple occasions we see a man drink from a flask, we see a man holding a flask and sleeping on a chair, and a woman appears to be intoxicated when she stumbles through a door (we see her passed out on her bed, face-down as her teenage daughter takes off her shoes). A woman smokes cigarettes on multiple occasions and two women discuss how their teen girls are smoking cigarettes and drinking.

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Mother-daughter relationships, extortion, regret, coming of age, rebellion, parental neglect, maturity, drug overdose, running away.

MESSAGE - Being a teenager can be very difficult, and having a strong parental support system is necessary.
