Although our site is very popular, the current economic climate has reduced our revenues just when we need extra security to prevent attacks from hackers who don't like what we do. If you think what we do is worthwhile, please donate or become a member.

Unlike the MPAA we do not assign one inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest, depending on quantity and context.

VIOLENCE/GORE 7 - A weapon is demonstrated and we see a large portion of London being destroyed. Aircraft open fire on many GIs on the ground and we see several shot and thrown by explosions, while three GIs jump into a well and hide and two armed men investigate and shoot into the water; we later see the three survivors walking through the burning rubble and looking at the dead (no injuries are shown but we do see bodies strewn on the ground). A man holds a nanobot that explodes and we see him burst into flames.
An unconscious man zipped into a bag is thrown off a bridge and two other people attached with cables jump and swing onto a zip line; they continue to swing and cling to rock walls while being chased by others that are also swinging and clinging, and one swings into a rock formation and then is knocked off; they all fight with swords and several fall to their death when their cables are severed; also an avalanche is started and many people are swept off a cliff to their death. Three men fall off a sheer wall face and we hear them scream as they pass by a window.
A man runs as a prison explodes behind him; he is thrown by the blast and runs from the flames that sear his back (we see his charred and smoldering flesh) and he is carried away by two other men. Many nanobots explode around a man, he runs and the explosions follow him and another man attacks him: he throws the man down a flight of stairs and they fight with punches; the other man hits him in the stomach with a metal pipe (we see blood on one man's mouth and on the other man's cheek) and the other man is struck by a car and thrown into the air (he gets away on a motorcycle).

Several armed guards are killed by a man with a sword and we see him slash and stab them (no blood is seen) until one man puts an defibrillator paddle into a water puddle on the floor electrocuting the man with the swords (we see him twitch and smolder, and he is shown unharmed later). A man shoots a containment tank and the man inside flops on the floor gasping (we see the man's face malformed from what looks like burn scars). Several GIs attack other military people and one is stabbed (we hear a crunch). We hear gunshots and a man rolls down a flight of stairs; the man then points a gun at another man and shoots.
Two men fight: one throws throwing stars and the other shoots them out of the air a couple of times; the two men fight with punches and kicks and then knives (one man has a bloody nose), they break through a window and roll around outside, and one man pins the other and chokes him until a woman holds a mask over his face and he falls unconscious; the man is zipped into a bag and taken away (he's still alive).  Two men speed in boats and shoot at each other until they crash into each other (we see flames but no wounded). A man and a woman step into a busy street where they are nearly hit by a bus and the man is then swept into a car where he is stabbed in the leg with a hypodermic needle (we hear a crunch) and questioned. A man holds another man's head and holds his eye wide open for a retinal scan. Three GIs with guns threaten several others with swords and they all lower their weapons at the same time.

A woman blindfolded and with swords trains with an unarmed man. Two men shoot at a target and one uses an enormous gun that blows the target to smithereens. We hear two men calling out orders with gunfire in the background; it sounds like they are in a skirmish, but it turns out that they are playing a video game and one man is upset because he is "bleeding out" and the other doesn't seem to know what to do.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.

INAPPROPRIATE ADS? We have little control over ads since we belong to ad agencies that serve ads automatically; a standing order should prevent provocative ads, but inappropriate ads do sneak in.
