ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

Billy Crystal and Debra Winger star as a married couple who
are trying to stay together despite problems.
SEX/NUDITY 3 - A few passionate kisses, some frank talk about masturbation
and infertility. A couple falls onto a bed kissing and moaning (clothed and nothing
further is shown). Two scenes of people in bed, kissing under the covers in shadows and it
appears that both are naked (only shoulders seen).
VIOLENCE/GORE 2 - Played for laughs: a man test-driving a car almost hits a
truck. Lots of yelling at basketball games including insults. Several scenes where couples
yell at each other. A woman has a bird stuck in her hair while driving.
PROFANITY 3 - A couple dozen scatological references, a profane hand
gesture, and some milder obscenities. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Marriage and marital problems, in-laws, importance of career,
infertility.
MESSAGE - A marriage is important so keep working at it even when the going
gets rough.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
