ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

A man (Matthew Modine) comes back to life as a dog and
tries to protect his family.
SEX/NUDITY 1 - A few passionate kisses.
VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - Reckless driving culminates in a car going off a cliff and
hitting a tree, with the driver yelling and covering his face as the car plummets (the
driver has a bloody face and he dies in this accident; this scene is shown a few times).
Dogs are handled roughly a couple of times; a dog bites three different people; a dog is
used as the subject of an experiment; and a dog is shot and we see some blood on his body
(he then dies). A man and dog are injured during a car accident. Their bloody wounds are
evident.
PROFANITY 0 - None. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Car accidents, workaholics, experiments done on animals in
the name of science.
MESSAGE - Cherish your loved ones because you never know when you or they
might not be around any longer. Don't let work consume your life. Spend time with your
family.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
