MPAA Rating: G

In this animated tale, Crysta, a blue-eyed fairy, shrinks Zak, a human logger, to fairy size when a tree falls in his direction. She then introduces him to the magic of the rainforest and opens his eyes to the threats posed by humans and the evil spirit Hexxus. In their own way, each helps save FernGully from destruction.

SEX/NUDITY 0 - The male fairies do not wear shirts. Also, Crysta and Zak share a quick kiss and, later, an embrace-but, remember, these characters are animated.

VIOLENCE 1 - Largely, the leveler "eating" trees-a rather loud process which might prompt cries from small children. Eventually, the evil Hexxus is imprisoned within a large tree.

PROFANITY 0 - None. [profanity glossary]

DISCUSSION TOPICS - The deforestation of the rainforest.

MESSAGE - Here good over evil is synonymous with protecting the environment. Telling the truth is also emphasized.
