ASSIGNED NUMBERS |
|
|

Spoof of "Basic Instinct," "Fatal
Attraction," and other sexual thrillers, with Armand Assante as a combination
cop/defense attorney who has a knack for defending the same criminals he arrests. Sean
Young co-stars.
SEX/NUDITY 3 - There are two posterior shots, and a dozen cleavage shots.
Sean Young lower frontal area is seen very briefly and through her panties. The film's one
big sex scene is a parody with Assante and Young getting hot and bothered in a
refrigerator. Their clothes are on and there's no intercourse. The entire film is replete
with comical sexual innuendos.
VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - One of the characters latches onto the undercarriage of a
van, and he is dragged on the road, which leaves his rear end exposed, bruised and bloody.
A lot of slapstick violence and acrobatics.
PROFANITY 2 - Some mild name calling. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Sexual obsession.
MESSAGE - As an anarchic parody, the film has no moral.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
