Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
Shirley MacLaine is back in this "Terms of
Endearment" sequel and she must deal with her adult grandchildren. Also with Bill
Paxton, Juliette Lewis, Jack Nicholson, Miranda Richardson, Ben Johnson, Scott Wolf,
George Newbern, Marion Ross, MacKenzie Astin, Donald Moffat, Jennifer Grant, China
Kantner, Shawn Taylor Thompson and Jake Langerud. [2:09]
SEX/NUDITY 5 - Sexual innuendo, kissing and a few scenes where people are
lying in bed with sheets pulled up to their shoulders -- obviously after sex. A woman
walks in on a couple having sex; we see the man jump up and cover his crotch with a
stuffed animal while the woman pulls the sheets up to her shoulders. In another scene, a
woman walks in on a man and woman lying in bed (no nudity or sexual activity is seen). A
nude man gets out of bed (nothing is seen), puts on his underpants and models them for a
woman.
VIOLENCE/GORE 0 - None.

PROFANITY 5 - Two F-words and a few mild obscenities, scatological
references and anatomical references. [profanity glossary]
A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
