Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
Young exiled Tibetan monks obsessed with soccer hope to
watch The World Cup finals on TV at their Indian monastery. With Jamyang Lodro, Orgyen
Tobgya, Neten Chokling, Raj Baboon, Lama Chonjor, Ngawang Gelek, Dundrup Gyamtso, Kunsang
Nyima, Pema Tshundup, Palden Gyatso, Kelsang, Dzigar Kongtrul, Pema Kunchap, Kunsang, Godu
Larma, Thinley Nudi and Jamyang Nyima. [1:33]
SEX/NUDITY 2 - A little sexual innuendo and a brief reference to breasts. We
see a boy in boxers. We glimpse a few pictures of women wearing athletic clothing in a
women's fitness magazine (some boys briefly look at it, treating it like a centerfold
magazine).
VIOLENCE/GORE 1 - We possibly see a drop of blood on the top of a boy's
head as it's being shaved. In a scene played for laughs, boys hold down another boy
and take money from his pockets. Some shoving.

PROFANITY 2 - In the subtitles, we see a British anatomical reference, a
scatological reference and a mild obscenity. [profanity glossary]
A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
